We are currently seeking a Mid to Senior Level Superintendent for one of our construction clients in the Philadelphia area. This individual will oversee subcontractors and manage multi-family construction projects from the field, ensuring safe, efficient, and successful execution.

Job Overview

The Superintendent will serve as the on-site leader, managing subcontractors, enforcing safety procedures, and ensuring projects are completed according to design, budget, and schedule. This position requires professionalism, communication skills, and the ability to navigate fast-paced environments while building strong relationships with project managers, clients, and contractors.

Job Responsibilities

• Supervise subcontractors and manage overall construction execution according to deadlines and budget requirements
• Communicate with subcontractors regularly and coordinate daily scheduling to maintain project momentum
• Make construction and scheduling decisions that support project profitability and on-time delivery
• Determine appropriate responses when unforeseen site conditions or problems arise
• Follow and enforce project plans and specifications; review requirements with subcontractors before start-up
• Adhere to project schedules set by the Project Manager and ensure milestones are met
• Provide regular updates to the Project Manager on progress, delays, and upcoming concerns
• Develop a strong understanding of client needs and deliver work in line with expectations
• Maintain open communication with clients, subcontractors, and Project Managers when making adjustments to the schedule or budget
• Complete and submit progress reports and photo documentation in a timely manner
• Conduct weekly on-site meetings with all project stakeholders
• Ensure subcontractors follow all safety procedures consistently
• Coordinate with building departments for permits, inspections, and certificates of occupancy
• Oversee site logistics, including dumpsters, storage containers, and portable toilets
• Coordinate delivery schedules for project materials, equipment, and tools
• Ensure all required site materials are present, including signage, labor posters, first aid kits, fire extinguishers, surface computers, tables/chairs, safety manuals, building permits, and project plans

Skills & Experience

• Minimum of 5 years' experience as a Superintendent in multi-family construction
• OSHA 30 certification required
• Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
• Proven ability to problem-solve and lead subcontractors effectively
• Knowledge of current building and construction codes, with broad understanding across all trades
• Demonstrated knowledge of OSHA and safe construction practices
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with Procore and Bluebeam required
• Willingness to travel to job sites as needed
• High level of professionalism and ability to manage client-facing responsibilities
