Description
These earrings have a thick 24k gold foil, fused with heat and pressure onto fine silver, using the ancient Korean technique called Keum-boo (meaning “attached gold” in Korean). I use a thicker foil so I am able to solder after the keum-boo technique. The warmth of 24k gold mixed with silver, and rich, red garnets give these earring an ancient appeal.
Garnets have been used since the bronze age. Legends and folklore place garnets among the most ancient of talismans. The name garnet is derived from the latin Granatum, meaning pomegranate, due of the resemblance it bears to the seeds of the fruit. They represent primordial fire, purification and love.
These earrings have the combined warmth of gold and garnets, both elegant and ancient, for everyday or special occasions.
